A Fine and Original 1964 SG Standard With a Medium-to-Thin Neck Profile.
This forty-six year old SG Standard with a solid Honduras mahogany body weighs just 6.70 lbs. One-piece mahogany neck with a medium-to-thin profile, Brazilian rosewood fretboard with 22 original frets and pearl crown position markers. Individual single-line Kluson Deluxe tuners with double-ring tulip-shaped Keystone plastic buttons. Two patent-number humbucking pickups with outputs of 7.62k and 7.54k. Five-layer plastic pickguard with six screws. Four controls (two volume, two tone) plus three-way selector switch, all on lower treble bout. ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and Maestro Deluxe Vibrola tailpiece. All hardware nickel-plated. The back of the neck is slightly faded and there is a miniscule amount of belt buckle scarring on the back of the guitar, some slight finish checking and a few small surface marks on the edges. This is a totally original example in exceptionally fine (9.00) condition.
