An Original "Reverse" Firebird Vll.
This original "Reverse" Firebird Vll weighs just 9.00 lbs. and has three patent-number mini-humbuckers. Solid mahogany body, mahogany neck and bound ebony fretboard with 22 thin flat frets and pearl block position markers. Three-ply white/black/white plastic pickguard with red 'Firebird' and eight screws. ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic retainer bridge with metal saddles, Gibson Deluxe Vibrola tailpiece with tubular arm and 'Walrus-Tooth' tip. There is an area of belt-buckle wear on the back approximately 1 1/2 inches x 1 1/2 inches. The lower tip of the pickguard has broken off at the screwhole and the upper tip of the trussrod cover has suffered the same fate. There are a few small edge marks and some minor tarnishing to the gold hardware - taking all that into account this guitar is in excellent plus plus (8.75+) condition. Original Gibson black hardshell case with orange plush lining (8.75). The Firebird Vll was the Firebird equivalent of the SG Custom and also the rarest of the series.
